"He’s a fantastic player that any team would want because of that passion and aggression he’s got. I just didn’t like the way he was doing things with our players.” That's now Henderson's role. In the absence of Gerrard from the first team, he has the arm band, he is the leader. “When Stevie hasn’t been there I just try to do the best I can for the team, encourage the players, lead by example," he said. "In the summer that’s up to the manager. It would be an absolute honour to be captain. I’d love it."
