However, with Walters rejecting what he considers a derisory contract offer, and Stoke signing Xherdan Shaqiri, who play's in the position Walters started most often last season, the Liverpool native might not be long for the Britannia Stadium.
“There's a contract there but people behind the scenes know why and I'll leave it with my agents and lawyer," Walters said.
"That's it. I can't really go too much into it. Of course I’d be disappointed if I had to leave."
