Report: Paris St-Germain have made a massive bid for Seamus Coleman

From Sligo to Paris?

Seamus Coleman has shown enough over the past few seasons to suggest that he's capable of playing for a Champions League team. The Everton defender has been among the best right-backs in the Premier League, but, despite reported interest from Manchester United, a move to an elite team has so far eluded the 26 year old. However, news broke this afternoon that PSG have submitted a £20 million bid for the defender. According to talkSPORT, who are quoting "sources in France", the Ligue 1 champions have made Coleman "their top target" and are keen to improve their defensive options before the end of the current window. Obviously there's every chance that this is just the type of crazy rumour that pops up in the closing stages of the transfer window, but there's no doubt that Coleman's highly impressive early season form has again put to Donegal man back on the radar of Europe's big clubs. Everton have reportedly rejected the offer, and are currently busy fending off interest from Chelsea for wantaway defender John Stones. Coleman joined the Toffees from Sligo Rovers in 2008 for £60,000, and doesn't seem the type to push for a move. While Everton wouldn't want to even contemplate losing their first-choice right back.
