Seamus Coleman is a man on a mission but, unfortunately for him and all his talent and physicality and uncompromising desire, his mission is to lead a ship that's hanging together.
Everton are yet to find their identity under Ronald Koeman. Their football is direct and random, their results are indifferent and sporadic and there seems to be no real idea of how to take the next step - the same step, in fairness, that they've been crying out to take for over a decade.
Then you have a load of watery characters lining the vessel - boys who just don't know if they're up for it or not and guys who seemingly could take or leave anything at the drop of a hat. The sort of attitude that would make someone like Seamus Coleman sick to the stomach.
And Toffees fans have noticed too. They've noticed that Coleman is the one excelling and he's leaving the rest of them in their trail.
They've noticed he's the only one busting his balls.

And they think it's about time the club acknowledges it.

But they could be too late because the vultures are circling.

The kind of football Seamus Coleman is playing - defensively and offensively - is stupid at this stage but his application is downright frightening.
He's been like a man possessed since he was given the armband for his country and nothing but no-one can seemingly snap him out of it.
His trajectory is unstoppable and the longer his club circle the drain deciding whether or not to jump or drop, every day his relentless energy will feel wasted there.
