Lionel Messi again showed he is getting back to his best with a stunning performance as Barcelona narrowed the gap to La Liga leaders Real Madrid to a single point.

The Argentine superstar scored for the sixth game in a row and created four more as Barca beat Athletic Bilbao 5-2 last night. Messi opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick before setting up Luis Suarez for the second. Messi then saw his effort turned in by Athletic defender Oscar de Marcos and also created Barcelona's fourth for Neymar.
