Achill GAA lotto numbers draw 1, 2, 3, 4 and the tasty jackpot keeps growing

You never think it's going to happen.

It's the equivalent of someone saying, 'if I had three wishes, I'd wish for a million wishes'. 'My new year's resolution is to have no resolution'. 'You might as well pick numbers one to six in the national lottery because there's just the same statistical chance that they'll come out as anything else'. Listen, we all f**king know the odds but we're never going to pick one to six just to prove a point. As much as picking any combination of six is unlikely - equally as unlikely - it's just easier to believe that it's never, ever going to happen if you pick one to six. It feels much safer and more likely when your randomness and poor chances are buried throughout the course and when have those first set of numbers ever all come up together in the one draw? Well, Achill GAA have something to say about that because, on Sunday night, they drew their four weekly lotto numbers like they do every Sunday night and lo and behold, the winning numbers were as follows:

1, 2, 3, 4. What are the chances of that, you might ask. Well, the chances are obviously the exact same as any combination of four numbers coming out but, still, it doesn't happen, does it? Picking any numbers between one and 32, no-one would go for the first four on offer, as proven with no winner yet again. That means the jackpot rolls over to next week and increases another hundred quid, meaning €7,100 is on offer this Sunday. Not bad for six quid.
