Aidan O’Shea’s GAA club show impeccable class to honour late Mayo footballer Darragh Doherty

Never forgotten.

It's not yet a month since the tragic death of Darragh Doherty in a road accident in Mayo, but his family and friends are clearly still in the minds of every single GAA person in Mayo. The teenager played a starring role in the county's All-Ireland minor success in 2013, and was expected to become a key part of his club Kilmaine's fortunes in the coming years. His death led to a 13th minute round-of-applause in his memory in the first Dublin-Mayo All-Ireland semi final, and now a rival club has shown a wonderful selfless act of sportsmanship this evening. Kilmaine were taking on Breaffy GAA club today in the Mayo county league Div 1A game when Breaffy , the club of Aidan and Seamus O'Shea, performed a guard of honour and also were part of a minute's silence in memory of the talented forward.     Breaffy went on to win the game by 3-17 to 1-12.
