The Down man is getting married later this year and he arranged his stag-do to begin in Ibiza last Friday, not to end until this Tuesday, five days on. It goes without saying that a five day stag requires plenty of staying power and loads of resilience, and the Mourne man appears to possess those in spades. The 2006 and 2010 senior champions made it through to the intermediate final this year, and as luck would have it, the decider was fixed for Sunday, right in the middle of Harrison's stag out in Ibiza. It would take more than that to keep him away though. He'd put too much into their campaign to miss out on the defining game of it so he decided to fly home from Spain's craziest party destination on the Saturday night for the love of his club and for the game on the Sunday.

 "Only came to look after the rest of them for a day," he assured his clubmates and management on Saturday afternoon.

Coming from a man who claimed his toughest opponents was alcohol, we're not sure if everybody believed him. Sunday, and Harrison played a stormer as the Gaels secured a famous championship win. The Glasdrumman club man showed no ill-effects of an Ibiza bender as he kicked two points, won two penalties, both of which were slotted home by Ciarain O'Hare, as the club to a 2-13 to 0-13 victory. He stood up for the Gaels when the pressure was on. St Joseph's were rallying in the second half and so Harrison came out the field to win dirty balls and to swing the momentum back his club's way.
