The Kilmacud Crokes sevens has been running for over 40 years now, and is a great social event where clubs from all over the country gather on the eve of the All-Ireland final to battle it out for the 'third' All-Ireland senior trophy.
This years event took place earlier than usual due to the inter-county championship restructures, but that didn't hamper the mood in Stillorgan.
The final of the competition came down to a shootout between two of the most notorious heavy hitters in sevens football.
All-Ireland champions Corofin bounced back after losing their opening match to set up a final meeting with seven-time winners St. Galls.
Corofin led by 2-4 to 1-5 at half time through goals from Kieran Molloy and captain Jason Leonard, with Michael Pollock netting for the Antrim outfit.
Both sides broke even at the beginning of the second half before the Galway kingpins struck 2-2 without reply en route to a 10 point victory.
Corofin now hold the All-Ireland club title and Londis sevens trophy concurrently. Some achievement that!
Their seven's line up must be one of the greatest club sevens team's ever.
Corofin: B Power, D McHugh, C Brady, K Molloy, J Leonard, M Farragher, D Wall. Subs R Mahon, D Silke, D Canney.
St Gall’s: E McCabe, S O'Hagan, C Brady, M Kelly, J McCaffrey, K Niblock, C Stinton. Subs: T O'Neill, C Burke, M Pollock.Cork star tracks down young fan he accidentally injured at Tipp game

He went straight for Darragh Fitzgibbon, who, unbeknownst to him, accidentally knocked the kid to the ground and continued on […]

Things got tetchy…. Last week, Cork selector Ronan Curran stated that he felt pundits from the Rebel county could be more of a help to their side. He said: “We kind of think maybe sometimes we could get a bit more help out there from our own lads.” This was brought up during the weekend’s […]
