On Saturday afternoon, David Clifford and his Kerry teammates strolled through the town of Dingle with hordes of joyous locals trailing close behind. The All-Ireland champions were doing their best, over the past seven days, to get Sam Maguire around the county, pose for pictures and make a heap of memories. We had the wonderful sight of manager Jack O'Connor bring Sam to visit Kerry legend Mick O'Dwyer, and Graham O'Sullivan's emotional victory dedication to the late Waterville GAA player, Tristan Huggard. David Clifford takes it to Listowel Emmets

Early afternoon, this Sunday, it was back to football business for David Clifford and his brother, Paudie. The pair lined out for their club, Fossa in the Kerry Junior Premiership. A week after the Cliffords helped Kerry to their 38th All-Ireland, they were kitted out and doing their worst to Listowel Emmets in the junior championship, in front of hundreds, not tens of thousands. As you would expect from David Clifford by now, the forward was a hard man to keep quiet. The 23-year-old scored 1-9 [1-2 from play] as Fossa recorded a comfortable 1-14 to 0-10 victory. Also on the score-sheet were Ruairi Doyle, Harry Buckley, Tadhg O'Shea and Jack Clifford. They all scored points, but it was the insatiable David Clifford that did the most damage. The game was played earlier in the day as those at the club wanted to leave plenty of time to cheer on Erica McGlynn and Anna Clifford playing for Kerry in the All-Ireland Senior Championship Final. Unfortunately, there would be no Kingdom double, though, as Meath were the victors at Croke Park, this afternoon.
