GAA club jerseys in the USA in safe hands with new four-year deal

Whilst it might be exciting times for the GAA and our games abroad and bla, bla, bla, it's much, much better times for jerseys. And that's the real quiz.

One of the most beloved jersey-connoisseurs, Masita Ireland, have announced a new sportswear partnership for USGAA that will extend for four years. It means that the makers of some of the world's finest geansaís will be responsible for all USGAA sportswear for the foreseeable and, if track records are anything to go by, it's a good time to be sporting a United States number. Masita are already responsible for two of the finest pieces of knitwear across the Atlantic:

• The Kansas City jersey is beautiful
• The Philadelphia Young Ireland's one is nearly better

By becoming the official supplier of USGAA gear, the company based in County Meath is expecting more jobs to be created off the back of the new partnership. “Whilst we have a very good relationship with a lot of American GAA clubs, we feel that this partnership should give us the opportunity to expand our presence in the US GAA market," Masita director Des Smith said. “As a club team wear specialist we always felt that the USGAA market was a perfect fit for our company.” [caption id="attachment_157151" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Stephen Reddy, Paraic Duffy, John Horan, Paddy McDevitt (USGAA), Declan Smith[/caption] The four-year partnership genuinely has the potential to invigorate both sides of the pond. New jobs in Ireland, fresh kit in America and, in turn, increase awareness and interest and identity. Currently, the US GAA market boasts 10 different divisions. New clubs are springing up all the time and, as more people emigrate or take off on travels, more and more of these clubs are harbouring the Irish. What is more, more are now harbouring Americans with no Irish connections.
