The GAA Hour: Kevin Nolan joins us to discuss Cluxton’s return, life in Monaghan and trials with Leicester City

Former Dublin footballer Kevin Nolan joined us on this week's show.

The Kilmacud Crokes man has one of the most illustrious CVs in the GAA, having won every honour there is to win in Gaelic football, apart from Footballer of the Year. Nolan's career, from an inter-county perspective, was more quality over quantity however as he played his last game for Dublin at the age of 26. A combination of a Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis and a debilitating back injury restricted him in his latter years, and he was eventually dropped by Jim Gavin in 2015. The good thing about Nolan is that he had it all won before that. Having won an All-Ireland club title with Kilmacud Crokes in 2009, he backed it up with Leinster glory for Dublin later that summer. He won a Sigerson Cup with DCU in the mean-time before the big one, in 2011, when he won man-of-the-match in Dublin's famous All-Ireland triumph over Kerry. Throw in a National League and All-Star for good measure on top. Nolan has since moved to Monaghan with his wife Lorna, and he's currently teaching in Castleblayney.
