The GAA Hour: Shane Walsh in studio, Kildare spirit & James McEntee’s incredible feat

Galway footballer Shane Walsh joined us in the studio on Monday.

The county's star forward was disappointed about his last-gasp missed free against Armagh but he says that Galway now must focus on bouncing back. They have no time to wallow in self pity with a knock-out clash coming up this weekend against their neighbours and rivals Galway in the preliminary quarter final. "Unfortunately I didn't execute the free, and that's down to me," says Walsh. Walsh says he's delighted to have the chance to redeem himself so soon but in the mean-time, the 30-year-old P.E teacher is kick-starting his own football camps. "It's rare enough that you lose a championship game and you're still there, and we have that to look forward to. So we just have to plough on now. "It's a chance to redeem myself. The lads will be in the same boat as well, so we'll all row in trying to get a result next weekend," he said. https://twitter.com/GAA__JOE/status/1670842538503159811 Shane told us all about Upskill camps on the show, which started off in Kilmacud Crokes on Monday and will travel to Clonakilty in Cork, Sarsfields in Kildare, St Eunan's in Letterkenny, Castlebar Mitchels in Mayo over the next few weeks. It will all come full symmetry then as the camps finish up in his native Kilkerrin-Clonberne. Meanwhile, Kildare are praised for reviving their season against Roscommon, while Libby Coppinger and James McEntee are hailed for their inspirational feats over the weekend.
