Limerick dished out a serious hammering to Cork this afternoon, which went some way to easing the pain of their loss to the Rebels in last year's All-Ireland semi-final.
There were a number of classy performances for the the Treaty in their 3-26 to 1-16 win at the Gaelic Grounds, with Adam English, Aaron Gillane, and Cian Lynch all shining.
However, it was Kyle Hayes who was deservedly given the man of the match award.
And it comes just weeks after he appeared in court over his breaching of the terms of his suspended sentence, following a violent disorder charge in 2019.
The RTÉ panel were full of praise for the wing-back after his stunning show.
Former Tipperary boss Liam Sheedy said: "They dismantled them today, and Kyle Hayes was central to that.
"His energy and his ability to read the game, as soon as he snuffs danger, and I think he was very disciplined in the tackle today, I thought he done extremely, extremely well, and they just couldn't break him down.
"He had to get man of the match.
Clare legend Anthony Daly added: "He's like a gazelle.... it's not just the breaking out, it's the tackling, it's the handing at the last second, it's the whole package he gives you there at six."
