Laois hurling puts Cheddar back on the menu as manager returns

Championship first; then we'll deal with the problem. That seems to be the message coming from Laois this afternoon as their once former manager is back in the job. Hurling fans can rejoice as their plan to get Seamus 'Cheddar' Plunkett back in the top job in the county has worked. Many a midlander last week was left very vexed indeed after it was announced that the charismatic hurling boss had left the position due to what was believed to have been an issue with players involved in a club game. A Facebook page was set up to encourage the hurling manager to return, and we're not sure if that had anything to do with today's news, but whatever happened it can only be good news for the county. Plunkett said that he had left for 'personal reasons' but a week after the shock news, the Laois county board have issued a short two line statement to say that Cheddar is back and will be on the sideline for this weekend's Leinster clash with Offaly,

'Laois GAA wish to announce that following successful discussions, the recent issues concerning Laois Senior Hurling have been resolved, for present.' 'The team and management are now finalising preparations for Leinster SHC game on Sunday next. The issues in dispute will be addressed at a later date.'
