Colm Parkinson quizzed Michael Ryan about the issue in the aftermath of Tipperary's Munster Championship opening round loss to Cork and the Upperchurch-Drombane clubman claimed that his squad weren't on a media ban.
"I'm glad you brought that up now because there's no such thing as a media ban, we don't have a media ban."
This denial comes a month after Seamie Callanan was not allowed to speak to the media at the launch of the 'Reynolds Hurley,' a new hurl, for which Callanan is an ambassador.
When asked about this and a media ban on the county hurlers, the Tipperary manager denied it.
"Hold on a second now, he was at a hurley launch. No I don't think so, I think there's absolutely not. I think you guys need to do your jobs, don't depend on us guys for quotes, you know, earn your living like the rest of us," said Ryan.
"Well I think he's (Callanan) carrying a mixed message, I think there's always an element of that, look, you know, we're trying to run our show the best way we possibly can, you know, and with the greatest respect, it's not our job to fill print media or airwaves, that's your job, our job is to get these boys ready to play hurling."
