Most could be forgiven for getting lost in a celebration after scoring a goal, but Liam Irwin may have taken it a bit too far on Friday night.
After scoring for Breaffy GAA in their 2-12 2-12 draw with Aghamore in the Connacht Gold SFC, Irwin turned to the nearest opposition player and shoulder-barged him to the ground.
He then put his arms in the air as if to say the Aghamore player had gone down softly, as opposition players called for the referee to take action and spectators around the commentator laughed.
The referee, who had signalled for the goal, had his back turned to the incident so didn't see it.
Those who had seen the clip on social media agreed that the ‘celebration’ was over the top.
One said: “Absolutely no need”, while another added: “Disallow the goal and send him off.”
A third said: “Poor refereeing yet again….! Why do referees turn their back on the ball - even when it goes out of play..? Basic referee behaviour….! Never turn your back to the ball."
