As we all woke up this morning we were greeted with the news that Mayo’s Cora Staunton will be travelling down under to compete in the newly launched women’s Australian Rules. https://twitter.com/GWSGIANTS/status/920485030207528960 It’s a big move for the Mayo woman, one she couldn’t possibly refuse after achieving everything she has to achieve in Ireland. Staunton says she will decide on her Mayo future over the coming months and, no doubt, she will be a big loss for her home county if she decides to not return for 2018. But as she travels to Australia there is one thing that she can’t get down there and that is the fine establishment of Copper Face Jacks. How is this relevant? Well, if you looked closely at Staunton’s gloves when playing the All-Ireland Final you may have noticed a fantastic feature on them, a Copper Face Jacks logo. Call it a PR stunt or call it a fashion statement, we don’t care they are brilliant.
