St. Patrick's Corduff 1-03

Spectators at Croke Park were treated to a fantastic game of ladies football between St. Patrick's Corduff and Gaelscoil Lios na nÓg in the second match of this year's Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Finals.
In what was a very entertaining first half, it was Lios na nÓg who started brighter and continued in their rich vein of form right through the half.
Centre forward Aisling NíAimhirgin, put in a cracking display up front and grabbed Lios na nÓg's first goal of the game quickly followed by a point to bring her tally to 1-1 for the half.
St. Patrick's Corduff battled bravely though and showed they also had dangerous weapons up front as Megan O'Leary picked up their first score of the day.
The two sides battle back and forth in what was a very entertaining opening half.

The midfield battle was turning out to be the highlight of the game. Corduff's Charlotte Forrester was instrumental throughout, pulling the strings for her side. Her driving runs through the middle was a sight to behold all day long.
However, Lios na nÓg's midfield pairing of Grace Ruaní & Ríada Ní Chasaide where in outstanding form, and linked up as if they had been playing together their whole lives. Ruaní scored the point of the match when she played a slick one-two with Ní Ghallchóir and sent over a booming point from way out on the right hand touchline.
Lios na nÓg where probably stronger throughout, however St. Patrick's diminutive full forward Sophie McCullagh, caused serious problems for them and dragged her team back into the game with a cracking goal.
However, Lios na nÓg turned the screw once more and got the second goal of the game and through captain Ruaní who also finished the game as man of the match.
