Shane Lowry refuses to let pesky US Open come between him and his beloved Offaly GAA

Shane Lowry has his priorities straight.

The Offaly golfer will be heading to Oakmont to take part in this year's US Open, but he has a bit of business to attend to first. Lowry has delayed his trip to the Major, in order to support the Offaly senior team in their Leinster SFC quarter-final clash against Westmeath on Sunday, he revealed to the Irish Independent. Sure it's no wonder, really. The man's a die-hard fan of the Faithful County. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/718392145581879297 Despite playing at The Players Championship in Sawgrass last weekend, Lowry made sure to keep abreast of the happenings at O'Connor Park, where his beloved county broke a nine-year hoodoo. Offaly won their first Championship game since 2007 with a 2-21 to 2-13 victory against Longford last Sunday, and thousands of miles away, Lowry was tuning in via Midlands 103.

"The first half I listened in my bedroom, and the second half I was listening to it in the locker-room, and then went into the players' lounge, and Pádraig (Harrington) listened to the last ten minutes with me." "Yeah, it was nice, and it's great, we got a win. People laugh at me. I said to Pádraig, 'it's all right for you, you get to experience that every year.' It was great for them to get the win. I know a few of them. It was nice."
