Chrissy McKaigue and Neil McManus sleeping rough for the homeless

No better men.

Hear Chrissy McKaigue and you think tough, hard and uncompromising. They don't make them any other way in Slaughtneil. The same goes for Cushendall. Neil McManus is one of the finest, most tenacious specimen in the Glens of Antrim and he's bracing himself for another challenge here. December 7. Outside Trinity College and in front of Stormont Estate, GAA and LGFA stars from all over will be sleeping rough as part of the WBSO, World's big sleep-out night - an event that will take place in 48 other locations around the world. McManus and McKaigue are just a pair of the GAA stars who will be out in the December cold, with a number of others also committing to the cause.

"An extremely worthwhile cause," said McKaigue. "Trying to get as many players involved on the night as possible," he continued.

"Sadly, across Ireland there are people sleeping rough every night," added McManus. "This event aims to give those involved an insight into what it feels like to be without shelter and to sleep out in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness..."

While McKaigue and McManus have faced and overcome some serious challenges on the field, homelessness is a terrible thing that is way too prevalent in Ireland and all around the world. Proceeds from the event by local homelessness charities and international organisations. It is organised by Depaul and events will have a great lineup of talent including the Script in Dublin and Runabay in Stormont. You can sign up for the event here.
