They won't be happy on Leeside

An Allianz league campaign that provided more talking points than many of the last number of years came to a conclusion on Sunday, as Dublin gave Cork a serious trimming in Croke Park. The champions dolled out another harsh lesson to the Rebels, just twelve months after they came from behind to beat Brian Cuthbert's side in the Division One decider. Cork were way off the pace as they failed to score a single point from play until the second half, and Dublin bossed every sector of the field in the 1-21 to 2-7 win The post-mortem's are continuing down on Leeside this afternoon, and discussion among Cork fans won't have been helped by the scathing comments of Joe Brolly last night. The Derry man lashed out at the Cork performance and described their ambitions  for the forthcoming championship as 'dead' following the league loss. He went on to criticise the team for quitting when trailing by  such a large margin and questioned the spirit within the side,

'It was so humiliating. I thought of the difference, for example, of Kerry compared to Cork. Kerry at their lowest ebb would never allow that to happen.' 'Cork quit, and they quit so suddenly, just as they did in the semi-final last year. I think that that’s the end of them for this year. 'It was such a bloodless effort. 'They quit. You could sense it when a team plays without spirit. After 12 minutes the score was five points to nil and the game was over.'
