Cricketer shot dead in Caribbean armed robbery

The cricket world has been rocked by news of the death of British cricketer Adrian St. John.

St. John, a Chris Gayle Academy captain, was on holiday on the island of Trinidad, where he was tragically shot during an apparent armed robbery. "We are in contact with authorities following the death of a British national in Trinidad and are ready to provide consular assistance."

Described by his cousin Leandra Alexander as "very cool and jolly", St. John was a University of Hertfordshire graduate in history and philosophy. Earmarked for future cricketing success, the London-based student had been in Trinidad since the country's national carnival in February. A 24-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
