Date set for Tyson Fury’s heavyweight title rematch with Wladimir Klitschko

The 27-year-old Fury dethroned the imperious Ukrainian champion last November when he won the world heavyweight title on a points decision. But Klitschko, who reigned over the division for a decade, wants it back - and had a mandatory rematch written into his fight contract. Now it looks like the pair will clash on May 7, according to the Daily Star, as the 39-year-old former champ seeks vengeance over Mancunian Irish Traveller Fury. But it doesn't look like Fury will get a home fight - any hopes of the bout being staged at Old Trafford or Wembley look to be dead in the water. It appears that the two have agreed to fight in Germany again where Klitschko has fought most often in his career. Bayern Munich's 75,000-seater Allianz Arena looks to be the most likely venue as promoters believe the fight will be a sell-out. Fury will put his WBA and WBO heavyweight titles on the line, having already had to relinquish the IBF strap after failing to meet a mandatory challenger.
