Carl Frampton’s first fight on American soil will be available to Irish boxing fans

The Belfast man is in the midst of his preparations to make a big impression in America next month, and it now seems that Irish viewers will get a chance to watch his July 18th showdown in Texas. The IBF super-bantamweight champion will put his title on the line for the second time against Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Junior in El Paso, and just like his history-making win over Chris Avalos in February, the fight will be on terrestrial television once again. The boxer himself has confirmed that the fight will be shown on ITV, which means that many of his home fans in the north of Ireland will get to see him take on the 22-year-old next month, while those in the Republic will also catch the fight on UTV Ireland. https://twitter.com/RealCFrampton/status/615827055209488384 The Jackal's last fight was a huge draw for the broadcaster. UTV Ireland reported a peak figure of 200,000 for the Frampton fight.
