Chris Eubank Jr pulls out of a fight, and people only want to talk about one thing

Chris Eubank Jr was criticised for a tweet last week following Gennady Golovkin's defeat of Kell Brook.

The Kazakh fighter broke Brook's eye-socket during their middleweight bout at the O2 in London, after five rounds the 30-year-old's corner had seen enough and threw in the towel. Following the bout, Eubank called-out the undefeated Golovkin, and claimed that, unlike Brook, he "don't own towels." https://twitter.com/ChrisEubankJr/status/774738105853177856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The British fighter was rightly criticised for what was an insensitive, and misguided tweet. Promoter Eddie Hearn called it "possibly the most ignorant comment I have ever read on social media," and boxing fans weren't impressed. With that comment in mind, Eubank couldn't have picked a worse time to pull out of a fight with an injury. The 26-year-old may not own a towel, but he has vacated the British middleweight belt after suffering a "severe injury" in sparring and has pulled out of his title defence against Tommy Langford. "The severe injury to Chris Jnr's elbow follows an ongoing injury which has been a recurring issue for the last 18 months. This allows Chris Eubank Jnr, and his management, the opportunity to relinquish the title which provides all contenders the right to earn a living and fight amongst their equal calibre of competitors."

Given Eubank's comments and boasts last week, he was never going to receive any sympathy from boxing fans on social media.
