Conor McGregor’s initial reason for wanting speedy UFC return was absolutely gas

Conor McGregor's coming back for a fight, it just may take a little longer than we expected.

It looks like Conor McGregor won't be done with fighting once he cashes that morbidly obese cheque from his diamond-encrusted panty night on August 26. There were concerns that no payday or challenge would be great enough to entice McGregor back into combat after the behemoth Floyd Mayweather challenge for his professional boxing debut. His reason for such a quick turnaround so soon after switching disciplines was because he had misunderstood how the Forbes 100 list worked (quotes via MMA Fighting).

"What was really making me want to do that December 30 fight was the Forbes list. I thought it was like January to January, you know what I mean? Or like the end of the year to the start of the year, but it's actually June to June."

McGregor cracked the Forbes Top 100 list for the first time in 2015. His earnings of $22 million were enough for him claim joint-85th alongside Eden Hazard. "So I thought I had more time to hit the number one spot. So if I had fought Floyd and had the December fight, that would have put me at number one spot, but it's actually July to July. I was 24th this year, which was a great jump for me. I'm 84 the year before. said I'd fight ."

The good news is, he has promised that he's definitely coming back for some sort of fight.

"I mean, I said I'd fight, I'm going to fight. I'm always going to fight. I'm an active motherfucker. What else would I be doing?"
