Eddie Hearn has some very big plans for Katie Taylor before the year is out

He has big plans ahead for the Bray star.

Katie Taylor recorded her third professional win last night as she stopped fellow super-featherweight Monica Gentili in the fifth round. Taylor unleashed a relentless combination which left the Italian hurtling towards the canvass. Taylor's opponent was able to get back to her feet but the referee clearly didn't like what he had seen and decided to end the fight right there and then. For Taylor, she now moves to 3-0 in her professional career, with a world title shot clearly in her view. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/838343302814576642 However, although the 30-year-old believes she is ready for a world-title fight right now, her promoter Eddie Hearn thinks that the 2012 Olympic gold medalist still needs a few more fights before she is ready to take on that challenge.

"I think I'm ready to box for a world-title straight away really but obviously I just need to get a few ten round fights under my belt," Taylor told Sky Sports. 

Hearn echoed Taylor's latter sentiments and outlined that a world-title fight will be on the cards after just a few more fights for the 30-year-old.

"She's got to learn and Gentili was tough again. "We're going to box again on the Anthony Crolla vs Jorge Linares card in Manchester in three weeks time. Maybe Wembley as well. Then once in the States and then I think she's ready for a world title. "She needs to get some rounds in the bag. It's good to get that many rounds. Maybe an eight rounder thrown in as well and then I think it's a matter of time before she challenges for a world title."

Just like in her amateur career, there is a lot of hype surrounding Taylor but she is well able to handle it as she looks set to create history before the year is out.
