It's reported that referee, Martin McNally had trouble controlling the ill-tempered clash and the ongoing sledging ruined the highly anticipated quarter final.
Coalisland defender, Eoghan Hampsey picked up a straight red card for dissent, whilst Brian Toner, and Crossmaglen duo, Callum Cumiskey and Johnny Hanratty both picked up second yellow card's for reckless challenges that nearly boiled the game over.
The Belfast Telegraph reported that the referee and his officials were indeed subjected to a litany of verbal abuse throughout the game, and McNally has now submitted a report to the Ulster Council which is sure to be investigated further.
Whilst no sanctions have been made as of yet, it is unlikely that either team will get off without any repercussions.
This is particularly troubling for Crossmaglen Rangers as they are due to take on Gaoth Dobhair for a place in the Ulster final on November 18.
The 11 time champions will now await the outcome of the Ulster Council's investigation. Manager, Donal Murtagh however will be preparing as normal for Healy Park in two weeks time.Cork boss not pleased with ‘hypocritical’ ref behaviour from Limerick manager
