"In 2016/17 our club hurlers and footballers have played a total of 27 championship games. We have won 25 of them. We look forward collectively to the next set of challenges after Christmas. Time for a few days off!"It's a crazy amount of games, and it's a crazy winning stat. Anyone that plays GAA will know the intensity brought into a championship match, it's hell for leather for sixty minutes and nothing is left on the pitch. Time and time again Slaughtneil play championship games and time and time again they keep on winning. Their 25 wins mean that Slaughtneil have won 93% of their games since 2016 with their only defeats coming at the hands of Cuala in the All-Ireland semi-final and Dr Crokes in the All-Ireland final. The path is now laid out for Slaughtneil in the football championship with Nemo Rangers the only team separating them and a St.Patrick's Day final when they face off on 17 February. https://twitter.com/SportsJOE_GAA/status/934828779289145344 But for now, as Chrissy McKaigue said himself, it's time for a few days off.

You could tell the win meant more than usual, after losing to the Rebels in last year’s final and in the round-robin stage this season. One Treaty player, however, went above and […]
