Ugly scenes!

Keady defeated Derrynoose last night by 2-10 to 0-11 in the Armagh Intermediate Football League Division 2A.

The win takes Keady into joint third in the league and opens up a two-point gap on their rivals Derrynoose.

The last time these two sides met, Keady shipped seven goals away to their neighbouring rivals in a humbling 7-14 to 1-16 defeat.

However, Keady's vital victory will be overshadowed by ugly scenes at Gerard McGleenan Park.

Both sides can be seen trading punches with each other before the referee blows the final whistle.

Retrospective bans could be given out following the distasteful scenes.

Fans on social media have responded to the scuffle.

One X user sarcastically noted: "Ah it's only handbags, young lads letting off a bit steam. Sure neighbours fall out all of the time"

Another user argued that there won't be bans given due to the referee blowing the whistle unaware of the tussle: "There won’t be (bans) ref blew it and walked off and saw none of it.

"Video is worse than the reality of it which was 90% grappling Keady number eight lucky though if he avoids a ban only real punch thrown

James O'Hara interview

Keady's top scorer James O'Hara spoke to Armagh GAA's media team after the match outlining the importance of his sides victory.

O'Hara said: "We knew tonight wasn't going to be easy at all, especially with the conditions, they were going to play a major part.

"We spoke during the game about tactics, game plans and different scenarios but these games come down to hard work, who wants it more and who is willing to put their body on-the-line."

On avenging Keady's seven-goal defeat last month in Derrynoose O'Hara said: "Our focus was the goals had to go and we knuckled down and we know not conceding a goal will give us a good platform to win the game."
