That game is a month away but Crokes still opted not to field in the Dublin senior football League Division One final.
Ballyboden St Enda's said in a statement on Wednesday morning that 'unfortunately and regrettably, tonight’s Division One League Final is off, as Kilmacud Crokes have informed the County Board that they cannot field a team.'
Given their status as the largest club in the country, with a reputed membership of 5000, the development raised plenty of eyebrows. Dublin GAA also issued a short statement, where they said that the match was 'called off.'
"The Go-Ahead Adult Football League Division One final - due to take place this evening at Parnell Park - has now been called off."
