Team Ireland, including Mayo legend, Padraig O'Hora reached the summit of Mount Everest two weeks ago completing a long-lasting dream for the former GAA man.
O'Hora was joined by Eanna McGowan from Dublin and Adam Sweeney from Waterford. The trio completed their climb to the top of the world's highest mountain after a 47-day expedition in Nepal.
However, recently on the the Big News Podcast, the Ballina man admitted he was haunted for two days by nightmares about an All-Ireland final.
The 34-year-old had claimed he had gotten over the defeat to Tyrone in 2021. Evidently now, not the case.
The former corner-back recalled his vivid nightmare: "I had awful nightmares about it (All-Ireland 2021 final) over there for two days, I couldn't get over the bad experiences with Mayo.
"One night in particular, I couldn't shake the All-Ireland final loss, it just consumed me.
"The Tyrone game got a hold of my thoughts and not matter how hard I tried it just consumed everything."
Asked if it was ever an issue in the back of his mind before embarking on the climb, O'Hora explained he thought it was "well put to bed."
The former Westerner continued: "I was definitely disappointed we never won the All-Ireland but I didn't think I would ever take it that badly.
"But on the mountain it just got a hold of me and all of these memories came flooding back, what am I sorry for?
"Why is it still sitting there and it just got to the point where I admitted to myself, I just didn't turn up on the day."
